The company developing a senior living community at Fischer Crossings in east Coweta County got the go-ahead on June 16 the eliminate the independent living component and retain the assisted living and memory care components.

Located immediately north of the Costco store, Fortress Ventures was previously approved for independent living, assisted living and memory care units on the 13.5-acre site.

Representing Fortress Ventures, attorney Rick Lindsey said the change was due to site issues and the number of parking spaces that would be required for independent living.

The Coweta County Commission voted unanimously to amend the conditional use permit to have the entire site used for assisted living and memory care.

Approved for the site were 91 units of assisted living in a 3-story building, 40 units of assisted living in a 2-story building and 31 units of memory care in a 1-story building.
