Construction crews are making significant headway on the new Tyrone Municipal Complex on Senoia Road across from Shamrock Park. Completion of the facility is expected later this year.
The 20,000 sq. ft. building situated on 3.5 acres will house Town Hall, the Tyrone Police Department and the Tyrone Municipal Court in order to better serve citizens into the future, said Mayor Eric Dial.
The building will be located directly across Senoia Road from Shamrock Park on property purchased from Harlie Deyton, whose home is located adjacent to the property.
The building will include a combined 97-seat council chambers and courtroom, various meeting spaces and extra office space to accommodate future growth.
The new municipal complex is expected to open before the end of the year.
Another infrastructure project is occurring simultaneously. That project will have sewer lines installed south along Senoia Road to Tyrone Elementary School.
Mr. Journalist. Why doesn’t this article have the same title as the School Board bulldozing during the Covid-19 distress? Matter of fact Tyrone City Hall and Fayetteville City Hall are currently building new buildings in times of Covid-19 distress. Not sure why the school system was singled out.
