There is an urgent need for blood due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Piedmont Fayette Hospital is hosting a blood drive for the American Red Cross on Wednesday, March 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The blood drive will take place in Conference Room C on the third floor of the 1279 building.
Donating blood is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give or receive blood.
Please postpone your donation for 28 days following travel to China and its special administrative regions, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Iran, Italy, and South Korea, or if you’ve been diagnosed with or had contact with anyone with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.
The Red Cross is also spacing beds to follow social distancing practices between donors, performing temperature checks before presenting donors enter the blood drive, and providing hand sanitizer for use before entering and throughout the donation.
Make your appointment at redcrossblood.org. Walk-ins are also accepted.
