It did not appear to be a burglary, even though the Peachtree City home being renovated was entered. From the look of things, the garage served as a place to hang out and eat a meal.
Peachtree City police at approximately 9:43 a.m. on Jan. 18 responded to a “suspicious” activity call at a residence being renovated on Sweetgum Road.
Arriving at the home, the complainant told officers they discovered the garage tarp ripped open and upon entering, a pizza box and beer can were found on the sofa in the garage, according to police reports.
In unincorporated Fayette County, an entering auto incident occurred Jan. 23 at a residence on Eli Way off New Hope Road.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the homeowner told deputies that his home video camera at approximately 1 a.m. showed a male wearing a black hoodie walking around the three vehicles in the driveway.
The man only entered the Lexus, stealing a work backpack containing various electronics.
The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the car, Babb noted.
