My name is Adam Campbell and I am a Boy Scout in Troop 175 based in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Our troop is part of the Flint River Council. I’m sending this email because I think there are a lot of boys out there who love scouting but may not know how to get started.
Even if you’re just now thinking about joining scouts, it isn’t too late. There are are a lot of Boy Scout troops. I am almost certain there is one close to where you live.
Most people think of Boy Scouts as camping in the woods and learning to tie knots, but it is so much more these days. There are dozens of merit badges you can earn in areas from outdoors and community service to computer science and astronomy.
No matter what kind of individual you are or what type of interest you have, I am almost certain there is something in scouting that would interest you.
Please help me spread the message and let’s get more folks involved. I would appreciate if you could include a note on your editorial page that scouting is good for the people involved and also great for the community that the scouts serve in.
For more information you can go to www.flintrivercouncil.org. I love being a scout and feel that everyone who joins would as well
