A survey by SmartAsset.com shows Fayette County residents with the fifth-lowest credit card debt among 159 Georgia counties.
The SmartAsset.com study calculated the ratio of credit card debt to per capita income for every county.
The survey showed Fayette with per capita credit card debt of $4,818, or 12.1 percent of income based on per capita income of $39,936.
An index of Georgia’s Top 10 counties with the lowest credit card debt showed Greene County at No. 1, followed in ranking order by Rabun County, Brooks County, Union County, Fayette County, Hart County, Putnam County, Harris County, Murray County and Appling County.
