Fayette’s 8U Allstars win World Series

The 8U Fayette Allstars baseball team from Fayetteville won the USSSA World Series this month in in New Orleans, La., according to Kimberly Jones of Peachtree City.
On June 23, the boys played a tournament in Griffin, Ga., and won the 8U USSSA State Championship Title. They then had their eyes set on winning the World Series. They arrived in New Orleans on Tuesday, July 9 to begin the weeklong World Series Tournament.
The tournament was originally planned to be a double elimination bracket with the championship game being on Sunday, July 14. However, due to Hurricane Barry, the association changed it to single elimination with the championship game being held on Friday, July 12.
