Get ready for the July 4 parade in Peachtree City. Later on Independence Day the city will hold 4th Fest at City Hall Plaza and, at day’s end, the annual fireworks display will explode over Lake Peachtree.
The parade begins at 9 a.m. at Village on the Green, just north of the Braelinn Golf Course, on South Peachtree Parkway. The parade will travel north on the Parkway, cross over Crosstown Road and proceed north. It will turn left on McIntosh Trail and left again into the parking lot of the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex.
The 4th Fest at City Hall Plaza will run from 5–9 p.m. and will feature live music, entertainment, several food vendors and activities for the whole family.
Rounding out Independence Day, fireworks over Lake Peachtree begin at dusk.
Given the mass of people attending the events and the desire to secure a good view, the city offered a reminder about the use of blankets, tarps and golf cart parking.
Peachtree City ordinance prohibits any “space saving” for the parade or fireworks before dawn on Thursday, July 4. At dawn, blankets and tarps only are allowed – no stakes, tents, barricades or other items can be used to save a spot. Also:
• No blankets or tarps will be allowed at City Hall Plaza before the 4th Fest begins at 5 p.m.
• No blankets, tarps, or golf cart parking on any path bridge for fireworks viewing.
• Please do not block paths or streets in advance of or during fireworks.
• Blankets placed early will be removed and thrown away.
