A Fayette County man has been charged with murder in the March 31 death of his father at their home on Greenfield Circle in south Fayette.
Sheriff Barry Babb said Christopher Joseph, 22, was arrested April 17 and charged with malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.
The warrant listed the aggravated assault charge based on strangulation.
Babb said deputies on March 31 at 10:53 p.m. received a call from Christopher Joseph saying he and his father, 60-year-old Georges Joseph, had been involved in a domestic incident.
Babb added that the two lived together at the home and that no one else was at the residence at the time of the incident.
Deputies arriving at the scene found Georges Joseph in severe medical distress and unconscious in the front yard, said Babb. He was transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, Babb noted.
Babb said Christopher Joseph had visible injuries but refused medical treatment.
“A thorough investigation determined that Christopher Joseph was the primary aggressor,” Babb said.
