4 thefts from parked vehicles in Peachtree City

The period of Feb. 8-14 came with a burglary in Fayetteville and several entering auto incidents in Peachtree City.

In Fayetteville, a burglary was reported on Feb. 12 at an apartment on Cobblestone Boulevard.

The resident said he heard a knock on the door at approximately 4 p.m., and subsequently heard sounds coming from a bedroom, said Fayetteville Police Department spokesperson Ann Marie Burdett.

The resident saw the bedroom door beginning to open as he approached, and screamed at the intruder, Burdett said, adding that a male fled through the bedroom window and ran into the wood line.

Burdett said officers searching the area observed and detained a man, who then complained of chest pains.

The man was taken, and admitted, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Burdett said charges are pending.

In Peachtree City, it was on Feb. 9 that a 17-year-old from Louisiana reported that someone had entered his vehicle parked at the McDonald’s restaurant on Dan Lakly Drive and had stolen $260 from his wallet.

Officers at the scene detected the strong odor of marijuana and found marijuana in plain sight in the vehicle, police reports said, adding that the complainant was arrested for less than an ounce of marijuana.

An entering auto occurred at the Peachtree City Tennis Center on Planterra Way on Feb. 8. The victim told officers the rear passenger window of her vehicle was broken and her purse stolen, according to police reports.

Another entering auto was reported at a Kennerly Way residence on Feb. 11. Miscellaneous items, and possibly tools, were stolen, reports said.

A final entering auto occurred at the Lake Peachtree spillway parking lot on Feb. 8. A purse, book bag and laptop were stolen, according to reports.
