Burglary, truck thefts, teen arrested in crimes reported across Fayette

The period of Oct. 12-18 across Fayette County came with a burglary, three stolen vehicles and seven entering autos.

A burglary reported on Oct. 16 at a home being renovated on Betsill Road off Inman Road in south Fayette had the contractor noting that a kitchen window had been pushed-in and a stove and dishwasher stolen, said Sheriff Barry Babb.

In another case in unincorporated Fayette, the owner of a 1997 Chevrolet Suburban reported a theft of the vehicle on Oct. 15 from a residence on Ga. Highway 314. Babb said the owner had been away when the theft occurred.

Two entering autos occurred at McCurry Park on McDonough Road on Oct. 18. Babb said both vehicles had the rear passenger window broken. One vehicle had a purse stolen while the other had a purse and laptop stolen, Babb said.

Two vehicles were entered on Oct. 19 at a residence on Fontaine Way off County Line Road. Both vehicles were unlocked and nothing was stolen, said Babb.

In Fayetteville, a 2004 Ford Explorer belonging to a contractor was stolen from the Lafayette Education Center on Oct. 12. The unlocked vehicle had the key in the ignition, said Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Jeff Harris.

The vehicle was recovered in the Walmart parking lot at the Fayette Pavilion on Oct. 16, Harris said.

Jadon P. Barre, 17, of Fayetteville, was arrested in connection with the theft, said Harris.

In Tyrone, a jon boat, trolling motor and marine battery were stolen from a residence off Valleywood Road. The items were reported stolen Oct. 14, with the theft occurring sometime during the prior week, said Tyrone Police Department spokesman Philip Nelson.

In Peachtree City, the theft of a $15,600 directional drill underground locator was stolen on Oct. 17 from an unlocked vehicle at a business on Ga. Highway 54 West, according to police reports.

Another entering auto occurred on Oct. 17 at the Kedron Fieldhouse and Aquatic Center on Fieldhouse Drive. The vehicle was forcibly entered and a purse and credit cards were stolen, reports said.

A third entering auto occurred on Oct. 18 at a business on Lexington Circle. The front passenger window was broken and a purse was removed from the floor of the vehicle, reports said.
