Among the items at the Sept. 27 meeting of the Fayette County Commission will be a request from developer Rick Halbert to rezone 18.6 acres on Goza Road to accommodate six residential lots.
In close proximity to Whitewater High School, Halbert intends to have the acreage prepared to develop six single-family lots.
The 18.6-acre tract was recently acquired for the purposes of possibly rezoning and developing the property from the present state of condition, Halbert said in an Aug. 18 letter. There are currently several structures on the property such as houses, sheds, mobile homes, out buildings, pool and other trash piles. There is an overgrown fishing pond and pond shed along with several years of undergrowth, saplings and weeds, Halbert said.
County staff and the Fayette County Planning Commission are recommending approval with the condition that Halbert agree to provide 10 feet of right-of-way on Goza Road.
