The preliminary plat for commercial development on 11 acres along Ga. Highway 85 North in Fayetteville was approved by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission on Aug. 28.

The vote by the commission was 4-0. Commissioner Debi Renfroe was absent.

The Satterfield property, located across the highway from Lowe’s and Aldi, includes 14.389 acres along the roadway which was zoned highway commercial in March. An additional 21.479 acres to the rear was zoned R-THC (residential townhouse condominium).

City planning staff recommended approval of the preliminary plat.
