GOP to choose nominees for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state; Democrats to pick nominee for state school chief
Early voting for the July 24 runoff election has begun and features only a handful of state races on the ballot.
Voters for the July 24 runoff will see few contests on the local ballot. For Democratic voters there is one race left to decide. That race is for Georgia state school superintendent and features Sid Chapman and Otha E. Thornton, Jr.
Republican voters will cast their preference on three contests. Those include L.S. “Casey” Cagle and Brian Kemp for Georgia governor, Geoff Duncan and David Shafer for lieutenant governor and David Belle Isle and Brad Raffensperger for secretary of state.
Early voting will be held in the public meeting room at the Fayette County complex in downtown Fayetteville through July 20 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays only.
Voters can cast ballots at the Peachtree City Library next to City Hall from July 9-20 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays only.
And in Tyrone, Town Hall will be the voting site from July 16-20 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays only.
