All-region teams announced

The All-Region 3-AAAAA soccer teams have been announced and both rosters consist almost exclusively of Fayette players.

Ryan Shanahan of Starr’s Mill is the boys’ Player of the Year and the Panthers’ Mike Hanie is Coach of the Year. Other local players include:

Fayette County — Uriel Benetiz, Victor Canas, Aaron Hauck, Josh Lewis, Owen Mikoy.

McIntosh — Addison Dattilo, Jake Donaldson.

Starr’s Mill — Andrew Cole, Blake Helms, Sam Pompeo.

Whitewater — Jon Bloch, Dawson Plowman.

Abby Crane of Whitewater won Player of the Year honors among the girls with John Bowen of Starr’s Mill selected as Coach of the Year. The rest of the squad includes:

Fayette Co — Shannon McGregor, Melanie Mikoy, Isabelle Odutola.

McIntosh — Kimmy Edgeworth, Hannah Ellison, Emily Lopez, Tariah Miller, Emma Whitson.

Starr’s Mill — Sara Biddle, Rachel Davison, Chloe Thompson.

Whitewater — Molly Downing, Jolie Ryff, Madison Wright.
