Joann Cora Federchuck, age 81, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and by the many Peachtree City residents who have come to know her. She was known by many as Ms. Joann, The Dog Lady, and the Boney Lady. She traveled the many miles of cart paths, passing out dog bone treats to every dog she met. If you didn’t know her, it was guaranteed that your pets did. Joann and her husband, Richard, moved to Peachtree City in 1992, after living on Long Island, New York for many years. Joann loved her golf cart and never met a stranger. Not only was she a friend of the canines in town, but she was always ready to help out a stranded cart walker or rider. The lady on the red, once yellow golf cart was an angel to many.
Joann is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Federchuck of Peachtree City; son, Mark Federchuck of New Haven, Conn.; beloved granddaughter, Elizabeth Federchuck of Pine Meadow, Conn. She is also survived by her faithful dog, Amber of 14 years. Joann leaves many loved nieces and nephews, Steven Pappalau, Karen Pappalau, Linda Pappalau, Sharon Pappalau, and Michael Noyse.
Joann was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bryan Federchuck, who just passed away one year ago; parents, George and Winnifer Pappalau; sister, LaDamma Demerent; brother, George Pappalau.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City. The family would like to invite friends to join them at the Rockspray Log Cabin, for a reception, following the service. Please feel free to bring your animals, as we will have “dog treats” for them from Ms. Joann.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the Fayette Humane Society in honor of Joann.
