William Calvin “Buddy” Barnes, 72, of Newnan died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home.
Born in Coweta County, July 23, 1945, he was a son of the late William Jefferson and Lois Lassetter Barnes. He was a Veteran having served in the US Navy. He was a Youth Baseball Coach and Basketball Coach and an Umpire. He was an avid Carolina Gamecock Fan.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff Barnes and wife Jenny of Cayce, S.C. and Jason Barnes and wife Erin of Senoia; grandchildren, Blaze, Abigail, Madison, Kallie and Ellie Barnes; nieces and nephews, Debbie Olmstead, Scott Cammons, Matt Houston and Marty Houston; and an extended list of other survivors, along with a special friend, Myra Boone.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. from the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel, 38 Jackson Street, with Rev. Danny Wilson, Rev. Edward Lynch and Rev. Chuck Chambers officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5-7 p.m..
