Sandra Ann Black, age 66, died on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 from cancer at her home in Newnan, Ga. surrounded by family and friends.
Sandy is survived by her loving family members – her husband, Chris Black of Newnan, Georgia, her children, Heidi Black and Jesse Black, Jesse’s wife, Jillian Black, granddaughter Norah Black, sisters, Debbie Logue Byrd and Beverly Kovars and her husband Rich Kovars, niece Heather Knighton, and nephews Justin Knighton and Hayden Knighton and her aunt and uncle, Betty and Richard Abelow.
Sandy was born on December 15th 1951 in Tupelo, Mississippi to her father Everett Logue and mother Syble Louise Logue (nee Smith). In 1975 she married her husband Chris Black. Their twin children Jesse and Heidi were born in 1981 in Nashua, New Hampshire. In 2001 she graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a Masters Degree in counseling. Her granddaughter was born in 2016 and brought endless joy and warmth during the twilight of her life.
Sandy defined herself by the degree to which she served others, and in this quantity she was rich beyond measure. An empty place has taken up residence in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be forever missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Sandy’s life. The celebration will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Southern Crescent Church, 315 Dogwood Trail, Tyrone, Georgia, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Sandy has requested that donations be made to Mission Lazarus or a charity of your choice.
