Mrs. Mary Hendrix Bagby, 66, of Tyrone, passed away on November 14, 2017. Born in Memphis, Tenn. to Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Hendrix, Mary graduated high school at Ensley High School in Birmingham, Ala.
In April, 1967, she married Clifton G. Bagby. After giving birth to two daughters, she began her career with AT&T in Atlanta where she thrived for 28 years. Mary was a career woman and a union representative and officer for Local 3250. She was a strong advocate for workers’ rights and women in the workplace. The last few years she enjoyed retirement with her family and dog, Buddy.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother, William Randall Hendrix.
She is survived by her husband, Clifton G. Bagby; daughters, Elizabeth Bagby Hiatt and Andrea Bagby Swearington; grandson, Joshua Wells Hiatt; and brother, John Hendrix.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City, 206 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City, Ga. 30269 with Rev. Morgan Morse Hay officiating. A reception will follow the service.
