Our Mamaw, Mrs. Patricia “Joann” Kearney, of Tyrone Ga., passed away on Wednesday November 8, 2017, at the age of 84, from complications related to Alzheimer’s. She passed in peace, with her family by her side.
She was preceded in death by her husband and high school sweetheart, Donald James Kearney.
Joann is survived by her daughter Debbie Derichsweiler and husband Jimmy, also of Tyrone Ga. Grandchildren Christopher Brown and his wife Edith, of Morgan Hill, Calif., Diana Dolowich and her husband Ariel, of San Leandro, Calif., Michelle Castillo and her husband Fernando of Fayetteville, Ga. and Steven Derichsweiler and his wife Katie of Atlanta, Ga. Great-grandchildren Luca, Brooklyn and Maya Dolowich, Mia and Christian Brown and Isla Castillo.
Joann’s life was all about her family. Always at her husband’s side. Always near her daughter. As “Mamaw” to her grandchildren, she never missed an event, if they looked up, Mamaw was always there for them.
The family will hold a private graveside service on Saturday November 18, at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, Ill., Joann and Don’s hometown.
The family asks that any memorial considerations be addressed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
