Larry H. Whitlock, 74, of Senoia, passed away on November 11, 2017 in Atlanta, Ga.  He was born and raised in Fayette County and lived in Coweta County for the last 40 years.  He honorably served in the United States Navy.  Larry was Chief of Police for the City of Fayetteville. He also rose to the rank of Captain with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and retired in 2010. Larry was a devoted husband, loyal confidant to his many friends, and a good and honorable man who loved his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Cyril Whitlock, and six brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Sanders Whitlock; his sons, Curt and Heather Whitlock and Brannon and Lindsey Whitlock; his grandchildren, Levi and Heath Whitlock; his sisters, Carolyn Mask, Joyce and Dean Davis, and Judy and Jeff Stewart; and his brother, Jackie and Martha Jean Whitlock; many nieces, nephews and friends he considered his family.  He also leaves his two loyal companies, Maverick and Sassie.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Johnny L. Caldwell, Jr. officiating.  The Fayette County Sherriff’s Department will render honors.  The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
