I have had it up to the cross hanging around my neck with the political left and the media trying to shame Christian conservatives over the “immigration” issue.
We welcome immigrants. Our ancestors were immigrants. I have five family members who went through the proper channels to become legal proud U.S. citizens in the last two years.
Philip Hackl and similar thinkers know that it’s the legal versus illegal status that is the issue. It is so disingenuous to not make the distinction.
How can it possibly be “more Christian” to allow M13 gang members, drug smugglers, murderers and Isis to cross illegally into our homeland?
Between 2008-2015, there were almost 2,600 crimes including 300 murders, rapes, kidnappings, drug traffickers in Texas alone. Is allowing this more Christian? I think not.
All through scripture God’s people protected themselves from foreign invasion and danger with God’s help. We can have it both ways. We can be loving, caring, inclusive and Christian while at the same time being wise and discerning.
Other countries protect their borders. A president’s number one job is to protect the country. Many of these people are coming here because they were told they would get welfare and food stamps. Many have dangerous intent. Many, as we witness weekly on the news, hate our country, hate our values and burn our flag.
While many of my liberal friends have genuine concern for these people as do I and my conservative friends, it appears that Democrat politicians want to use them as a voting block and aren’t concerned about our protection.
For those who want to become proud Americans, get in line and go through legal channels. We all welcome you with open arms.
