Following the success of the June clean-up at Lake Peachtree, the Fayette County government is inviting local residents with kayaks and canoes to assist with cleaning our water reservoir at beautiful Lake McIntosh in Peachtree City.  The program is called Water Guardians and the lake clean-up will occur on Saturday, August 5 from 8 to 11 a.m.

Lake McIntosh is on TDK Blvd. off of Georgia Highway 74.
Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. in the boat dock parking lot off of TDK Blvd. Each new volunteer who registers by July 28 will be given a Water Guardian t-shirt at sign-in to proudly wear during the event. If you are a previous participant and have a Water Guardian t-shirt, please wear it to the clean-up.

We also welcome walkers who want to clean-up the lake banks and the park.

Each volunteer will be provided a trash grabber, trash bags and bottled water. Please note that a liability waiver will be sent to all volunteers and must be completed in order to participate. This also applies to previous volunteers. Please remember to bring your waiver, life vest, sun screen and a hat the day of the event. In the case of rain, all registered participants will be notified via email with a rescheduled time and date.

Thanks to the generous support of the engineering firm CH2M, we will be serving lunch after the clean-up. Please plan to stay and enjoy the food and fellowship.

To register for this event, send an email to WaterGuardians@fayettecountyga.gov and include your name, daytime phone number, contact email address and T-shirt size.
