Sandy Creek High School student Hannah Zeiler and her “super team” members collaboratively took a top placement at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference.

Hannah, along with Mario Russo from Herschel Jenkins High and Brent Miller from Northview High, took second place in the Hospitality Management event during the national conference that took place at the end of June in Anaheim, California.

She and the other two students from Georgia were placed on what is called a super team since they were among the top six test scorers in the Hospitality Management event at the FBLA state conference.

Melanie Duncan, business education teacher, is the FBLA advisor at Sandy Creek High.

FBLA is a nonprofit education association that prepares students for careers in business and business-related fields.

The national awards program recognizes and rewards excellence in a broad range of business and career-related areas. Through state-based competitions at the spring State Leadership Conference, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are eligible to compete for honors at the National Leadership Conference each summer.
