Michael Wayne Stapleton, 60, of Senoia, passed away June 30, 2017. He was born on June 5, 1957 in Fort Riley, Kan. to Clarence and Ingeborg Stapleton.

He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1975 where he met his future wife, Kim Kelley. Michael received his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech, where he was a football player. He worked for Delta Airlines for over 37 years. Michael had a love of sports and music. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Michael is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter, Lisa O’Hara (Eric Bridwell); grandson, Connors Attix Bridwell; brothers, Jerry Stapleton and Kenny (Cathy) Stapleton; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Chaplain Jack Landham officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
