Two separate volleyball camps are scheduled for the coming weeks at the Kedron Fieldhouse gymnasium encompassing various age groups.
“Little Diggers” is geared toward girls going into grades 3-5 who are interested in learning the fundamentals of volleyball. Players will participate on shorter nets and with a lighter ball to develop basic skills while feeling successful. Campers will learn the skills necessary to pass, set, spike and serve as well as the rules of volleyball. Each camper will receive a T-shirt. Appropriate gym shoes are required. Campers may bring drinks in sports bottles along with a light snack.
Camp is scheduled for July 10- 13, 9-11 a.m. each day. Cost is $75 for residents and $93.75 for out- of-county participants.
“Gotta Volley” is geared toward girls going into grades 6-9 who are interested in learning the game of volleyball. Fundamentals of volleyball (serving, passing, set- ting, spiking) will be taught with an emphasis on teamwork. At the end of the week, all the girls will participate in a real volleyball tournament. Each girl registered will receive a T-shirt and a volleyball. Bring a snack and drink each day. Appropriate gym shoes are required.
Camp is scheduled for July 10- 14, 12:30-3:30 p.m. each day. Cost is $100 for residents and $125 for out-of-county participants.
