It is with great sadness that Amanda, Tim, Bob and Alex announce the passing of Milly Frances Cresswell, a vibrant daughter and a wonderful sister. Milly died peacefully at home in Atlanta, after a three year battle against cancer, at 04:20 EST on Saturday 3rd of June, 2017 – her 21st birthday.
Milly was born in Shrewsbury, UK and moved to Peachtree City, Ga., in 2008, where she attended Booth Middle School and MacIntosh High School, graduating in May 2014. Following her graduation, Milly moved to San Francisco and attended Academy of Art University, studying Fashion Styling & Design. She was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in December 2014 and interrupted her studies to undergo treatment in Atlanta, returning to San Francisco in the summer of 2015 and resuming her studies and her independent lifestyle. Following re-diagnosis in November 2016, Milly continued to live and work in San Francisco, until she returned to Atlanta in May to be with her family.
Milly and her entire family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Tom Olson, Christie Powell, and their team at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as well as Dr. Rob Goldsby & Dr. Asmin Tulpule at UCSF Hospital, San Francisco, for their continued support and dedication.
Milly’s funeral was held on Sunday, 11th of June 2017, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, 135 Senoia Road, Peachtree City, Ga.
