GOP bill is false fix for healthcare

The “fix” to the ACHA that the Senate is working on is no improvement at all to the House bill. There is nothing in it to protect the poor and the middle classes, those with pre-existing conditions who might let their coverage lapse, children, the elderly, the disabled. It protects nobody but the rich and young people who are – at least currently – healthy.

A bill that is ostensibly a “health insurance bill” that gives huge tax breaks to the wealthy should be called what it truly is: a rip-off.

Our state senators should think of their constituents who will not be able to afford insurance and, by extension, preventive healthcare, doctor’s or hospital visits, and medications.

This bill is not what this country’s people need. It should be opposed until it does what it should, which is to provide reasonable, affordable, inclusive medical coverage to all.
