FPC to hold pet blessing today
Fayette Presbyterian Church will hold a “Blessing of the Pets” at the Fayetteville Town Square Gazebo this evening, May 3. The event is open house style between the hours of 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.  All pets are welcome, but must be leashed, caged, or otherwise contained. A barbecue dinner will be available for purchase from a local barbecue restaurant.

Shred Day at NHBC is May 6
National Heights Baptist Church will host its 6th annual Shred Day on Saturday, May 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 103 Old Norton Rd., Fayetteville (corner of Old Norton Road and Ga. Highway 54).  There is no charge to the public for shredding, but donations will be accepted. Global Shredding will perform the service on site. Documents and papers acceptable for shredding include outdated or sensitive information and other personal documentation. Staples or paper clips do not have to be removed but documents should be taken out of binders and notebooks. No advance registration is needed to participate.  For more information, call the Church office at 770 461-1704.

Pastor’s anniversary to be celebrated
Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church will celebrate Pastor Kimberly Lyons’s sixth anniversary on May 7 at 2:30 p.m. The theme is: “Celebrating the laborer that dwells among us,” 1st Thessalonians 5:12-13. The guest pastor and church will be the Rev. Dr. Marvin Crawford and the First Saint Paul A. M. E. Church of Lithonia. Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church is located at 175 Booker Avenue, Fayetteville. The community is invited to the celebration.

Christian comedian at Flipper Chapel
Flipper Chapel A.M.E. Church  will present “Bridging the Gap,” bringing youth and adults together to share the grief away. The event will be held Saturday May 13, at 5 p.m. and will feature Christian Comedian Ms. Wallstreet. Flipper Chapel is located at 175  Booker Ave., Fayetteville. RSVP to 770-882-3121.
