Coweta County voters had their say on March 21 and approved the continuation of the Coweta County School System’s ESPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax).
The five-year ESPLOST continuation received nearly two-thirds of the votes, with 62.65 percent of voters supporting the initiative and with 37.35 percent in opposition.
A total of 3,328 ballots were cast in the ESPLOST vote. That total includes 4.04 percent of registered voters.
The ESPLOST proceeds will fund a variety of projects such as the construction of new facilities and the upgrades of others, the purchase of buses and other vehicles, technology purchases and land acquisition for future facilities.
