Arlington Christian School’s varsity boys basketball team defeated Heirway Christian School 75-69 win for the GICAA Division II A-AA state championship.

Coach Mike Cerezola believed his team would play hard and refuse to go home defeated.

“It was a hard-fought game,” said Cerezola. “We trailed Heirway most of the game, but our team never gave up and kept battling. They really stepped up in the fourth quarter. Great game and great way to end the season.”

The team was led by senior Jonathan Bishop with 26 points, senior Glenn Sims with 24, sophomore Dexter Redding with 14 and sophomore Rico Wade II with 8.

Other team members include Chandler Barrow, David Biske, Mike Biske, Jeanathan Guillaume, Nicolas Knott, James Smartt, Alphounce Williams and Justin Williams.
