Dr. Henry Raymaker, Jr., age 89

A graveside service for Dr. Henry Raymaker, Jr., age 89, of Dublin, was held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Dublin Memorial Gardens.  Dr. Cliff Morris officiated.  The family received friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday at Townsend Brothers Funeral Home.  Dr. Raymaker died Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

Dr. Raymaker served in the U. S. Navy and was a graduate of Samford University. He received his PHD in psychology from Vanderbilt University and was Chief of the Psychology Department at the Carl Vinson V. A. Medical Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church, served as a councilman for the city of Dublin, and worked with Advocates for Alzheimers Care. Dr. Raymaker was an advocate for many underprivileged groups. He was a devoted public servant and loved his family.

Dr. Raymaker was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Lindsey Raymaker; parents, Henry Raymaker, Sr., and Annie Baker Callahan Raymaker; granddaughter, Christine Elizabeth Blakley; sister, Annie Dale Stewart Tricomi; step-daughter, Patricia Anderson; and step-son, Ralph Parham.

Survivors include his daughters, Leslie Raymaker, of Nashville, Tenn., and Lindsay Parham Blakley, of Kingsport, Tenn.; niece, Carol Ann (Erwin H.) Petty, of Dadeville, Ala.; special care giving great nieces, Vivian (David) Martin, Valerie (Eddie) Mosley, and Vanessa (Sam) Fleming;  many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews.

Dr. Raymaker’s grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
