GMC sets Veterans Day event

Georgia Military College Fayetteville’s annual Veterans Day recognition ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9, beginning at 10 a.m. in the Truett’s Way parking area in front of the main entrance at 255 Veterans Parkway.

Director Rock Donahue will moderate the ceremony and the guest speaker will be state Rep. John Yates, a World War II Veteran and long-standing member of the Georgia House of Representatives.

The honor guard will be provided by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department; a mobile Veterans memorial wall commemorating Georgia’s fallen heroes will be provided by Mr. Gary Jones; and the National Anthem will be sung by Lisa Delk of the Marine Corps League Maj. Stephen W. Pless (MOH) Detachment 1196.
