Sandra Lee Scallion (A.K.A, Sandy), 54, of Newnan, Ga., passed away Tuesday, October 25th, 2016, at West GA Hospice in Lagrange, Ga.

Sandy was surrounded by loved ones during her last days, and passed peacefully, during the night. Sandy was born in California where she was raised with her four siblings Shirley, William, Charlotte, and Chuck. Her parents, Jack and Marion Stroup, raised Sandy and her siblings to be honest, loving, and kind individuals; all of which came easy to Sandy. She was an optimistic, bubbly, breath of fresh air, with a tender soul, and generous nature. Sandy had a huge heart, infectious smile, and refreshing sense of adventure.

A much beloved, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she is survived by: two sons, Brandon Sadler, 25, of Newnan, and Christopher Scallion, 35, of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Jordan, Blake, and Brooke Scallion; siblings William Stroup, and Charlotte Flores of California, and Chuck Stroup of Oklahoma.; nieces and nephews, Kassandra Stroup, Tammy and Mathew Flores, Chandler Stroup, and Cooper Cary; and great nieces Mikey Stroup and Kayden Warmer.

In closing, we’d like to share this poem, as its words perfectly capture Sandy:

The Joy of Unselfish Giving

Time is not measured by the years that you live, but
by the deeds that you do, and the joy that you give.
And each day as it comes brings a chance to each one,
to love to the fullest, leaving nothing undone.
That would brighten the life or lighten the load,
of what does it matter how long we may live, if as long
as we live we unselfishly give.
