Renewing your driver’s license in Fayette County? Don’t go to the old location off McDonough Road; it’s now closed. The new location in Fayetteville opened this week.
Department of Driver Services (DDS) closed the old center at 278 McElroy Road in Fayetteville Oct. 15, and re-opened at the new location Oct. 18, at 749 West Lanier Avenue, Suite 102.
DDS said the new Fayetteville office will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
The new center is approximately four miles from the current location and features:
• More room for customers to navigate the process efficiently;
• an increase in computer testing stations;
• technology such as utilizing kiosks for self-serve lobby management;
• DDS computer-based application/paperwork process to replace the typical paper and clipboard system.
Customers are urged to visit www.dds.ga.gov and “Skip A Step!” by completing the necessary forms and paperwork before arriving at the new location.
This will help speed up your visit.
