I love the fall. I love the turning leaves and cooler temperatures. I also love my job the most in the fall because it is the time the Chamber gets to “show off” our community and our businesses in special ways.
September means it’s time for Community Expo, presented this year by Fidelity Bank. This event allows local businesses to showcase their goods and services.
Back by popular demand, the Chamber will again offer an informational session on how to do business with the film industry.
Community Expo will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at New Hope Baptist Church-South campus from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is free to the public. Please come out to support the local businesses and to have some good family fun.
September is also the launch month for the 2016-17 Fayette Community Source magazine. This year’s edition features the superhero leaders making an impact across the county, the growing focus on creating a workforce in film and STEM industries, and the first printed Chamber membership directory in two years.
The Source would not be possible without its advertisers. Purchasing goods and services from these advertisers and Chamber members supports them, which in turn, supports Fayette County. Copies of the Source can be found throughout the county including the Chamber of Commerce office.
This fall, the Chamber staff and board will start talking about a major milestone, The Chamber’s 50th anniversary. Birthed in Carolyn Cary’s dining room, the Fayette Chamber, like Fayette County, has come a long way in the last 50 years. On Jan. 14, the Fayette Chamber will celebrate with an evening gala that will celebrate our history, our leaders and Fayette County’s future.
