The Olivet Church in Fayetteville kicked off its 25th Church Anniversary celebration last week with the Olivet Family Feud. The celebration continues through the month of September with different guest speakers planned for each week.
Wonderful WINsday night worship service begins on Sept. 7 and the anniversary celebration will be Sunday, Sept. 25.
The theme this year is “Upon this Rock I will Build my Church” (Matthew 16:18 kjv).
Wednesday night services are at 7 p.m. Speakers for the coming weeks will be:
Pastor Stephen Thurston from New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Ill. on Sept. 7;
Dr. Maurice Watson from the Historical Metropolitan Church, in Largo, Md., on Sept. 14;
Dr. Frederick D. Haynes III from Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas on Sept. 21; and
Pastor Arthur Jackson, III from Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Miami Gardens, Fla. on Sept. 28.
Other activities planned are:
Olivet’s Health Fair and Church Bazaar, Saturday – Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, and is open to the public;
The Olivet Church Prayer Breakfast, Saturday – Sept. 17 at 10 a.m. at Flat Creek Country Club, 100 Flat Creek Road in Peachtree City. Tickets are $14 (12 and under); $25 (13 and up).
Guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Gregory Vaughn Eason Sr. from Flipper Temple A.M.E. in Atlanta.
The 25th church anniversary services will be Sunday, Sept. 25, at 8 and 11 a.m. and will be led by Rev. Dr. Charles E. Goodman Jr. from The Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Augusta.
Olivet services are open to the public.
