The community is invited to commemorate the events of September 11, 2001, at an interfaith service of remembrance on the 15th anniversary of the tragedy.
Planned by the City of Fayetteville and the local faith community, the service will be held Sunday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m., on the lawn of the historic Fayette County Courthouse.
Keynote speaker will be retired Major General Jack Wheeler. Special music will be presented by various faith and community groups.
Prayers will be offered from representatives of numerous faith traditions.
All are invited. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the sanctuary of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, which is located next to the courthouse.
