The time period of Aug. 23-29 came with two burglaries and an entering auto incident in unincorporated Fayette County and an entering auto in Fayetteville.

A residential burglary was reported on Brittany Way off Ga. Highway 54 in central Fayette on Aug. 28.

The homeowner told deputies the residence was entered between 10 a.m. on Aug. 27 and 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, said Sheriff Barry Babb.

Items missing included a TV, Xbox, video games, surround sound system and a TV stand. Deputies saw no signs of a forced entry, said Babb.

A second burglary during the period was also reported on Aug. 28 on Busbin Road off Ga. Highway 85 South and occurred on Aug. 27 between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Deputies at the scene found the front door deadbolt damaged and scuff marks around the door frame, Babb said.

Missing items included a chainsaw, $400 in cash, a coin collection and a Chevrolet hood ornament.

An entering auto incident was reported at McCurry Park on McDonough Road on Aug. 27 at approximately 7:10 p.m.

The vehicle owner arrived minutes earlier to drop off a child for a ball game. She returned to her vehicle to find her purse and its contents missing from the drivers side floor area, Babb said, adding that, likely in her rush to get to the game, the woman forgot to roll up the windows and lock the vehicle.

An entering auto incident occurred in Fayetteville on Aug. 28 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Fayetteville Police Department spokesman Mike Whitlow said the vehicle owner reported in the incident at approximately 11:30 p.m. Someone had entered the glove compartment and trunk of the vehicle that was apparently unlocked, though nothing was missing, Whitlow said.
