Juvenile Justice Forum convenes Aug. 20

The Fayette County NAACP Youth Council will host its ninth annual Juvenile Justice Forum titled “Equal Justice Under Law, Saving A Young Generation.”

It is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Fayette County Public Library.

Panelists include local law enforcement with training in best practices to save lives in the presence of an active shooter. A community leader and international speaker will address “Talking vs. Texting”. Fayette County school officials along with a representative from the Department of Juvenile Justice will also participate as panelists. Area students who are youth leaders will serve as panelists with a question-and-answer session.

Middle through high school students are encouraged to attend and participate in discussions to learn all about the justice system. Free lunch is available at noon.
