The Coweta County government website is about to get an upgrade. Commissioners on July 19 voted to approve a $46,500 update by Vision Internet Providers.

County Administrator Michael Fouts during the discussion said that it has been nearly 10 years since the county’s website has been updated, noting that citizens have come to expect a certain level of online presence and function.

Fouts said the newly revised website will allow the addition of many new functions that will be more efficient for citizens and staff. Fouts added that the current website is on a platform that is being phased out and soon will no longer be supported.

After a review by staff of other local government websites, the decision was made to have the update performed by Vision Internet Providers, Fouts said.

The Vision product has all the capabilities staff believes are needed for a website update and it receives good reviews from others who have their current version, said Fouts.

The upgrade carries a cost of $46,530 and is a budgeted expense.
