A Tyrone man has been charged with the April rape of a woman at his residence.
Kristopher L. Cawthon, 29, was charged on June 30 with rape by the Tyrone Police Department, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Tyrone Police Department Detective Andrea Johnson said the rape occurred on April 6 at the Whispering Pines Mobile Home Park on Senoia Road where Cawthon resided.
Johnson said Cawthon lured a 30-year-old female to the back door of his home, pulled her inside then raped her.
Cawthon subsequently let the woman leave and told her not to tell anyone, said Johnson.
A family member learned of the rape and contacted police, Johnson said.
