Flat Creek Baptist in Fayetteville and First Baptist in Newnan will join forces on Sunday, June 26, at 6:30 p.m. for a Freedom Celebration featuring choirs and orchestras from both, as well as special guest speakers and a vocal soloist.
The performance will be presented at Coweta’s Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts on Lower Fayetteville Road.
Guest speakers will include retired Lt. Col Brian Birdwell and retired Lt. Col Barry Bridger. Guest vocalist will be Tiffany Coburn.
Birdwell was 30 yards from the impact as Flight 77 hit the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. He now serves as Texas State Senator.
Bridger’s Phantom jet was shot down over North Vietnam, resulting in his capture and being held as a POW for six years at the Hanoi Hilton.
Coburn toured with Sandi Pattie and Truth, then joined the group at Disney World’s Epcot Center in Orlando.
The combined Sanctuary Choirs and orchestras of both churches will present a special “Salute to Our Armed forces.”
