The Atlanta Alumnae Panhellenic Association, a community-based organization composed of alumnae from National Panhellenic Conference member fraternities, awarded MacKenzie McGraw, a rising Senior at the University of Georgia and member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, a $2,000 scholarship in recognition of her academic and service-based accomplishments.
Since 1932, the AAPA has provided scholarships to women from the Atlanta area, as part of its goal of supporting academic achievement among women. The AAPA collegiate scholarship is awarded annually to deserving rising Junior and rising Senior NPC sorority members attending Georgia universities.
“MacKenzie is an extraordinary young lady and we are pleased to support her in her educational endeavors,” said AAPA President Rigby Duncan.
McGraw, a resident of Senoia, is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UGA. She has a 3.9 GPA and will graduate in May 2017, after just three years at the university.
On campus, she has been active as the Secretary of the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society, Cure Kids Committee, UGA Miracle, and UGA Wesley’s prayer team. McGraw plans to pursue a career as a speech-language pathologist.
As a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, McGraw’s Panhellenic service includes serving as the Head of her sorority’s “Greeks Get Involved” Committee and as a Junior Panhellenic delegate.
McGraw was presented with her scholarship during the AAPA Scholarship Luncheon May 7 at the Cherokee Town Club in Atlanta. She is pictured here with Duncan.
