The Newnan-Coweta Historical Society is celebrating National Poetry Month with a “Stone, River, Sky” reading Thursday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at the McRitchie-Hollis Museum, 74 Jackson Street in Newnan.

Join Georgia poets Nick Norwood, Laura Beasley, Melanie Jordan, Melissa Dickson Jackson (pictured above), Carey Scott Wilkerson and Michael Diebert. Authors of the poetry collection will also be available for a book signing.

National Poetry Month is the largest literary celebration in the world, with tens of millions of readers, students, K-12 teachers, librarians, booksellers, literary events curators, publishers, bloggers, and, of course, poets marking poetry’s important place in culture and life.
