A man and woman from Stockbridge are facing charges in Peachtree City after stealing a city-owned vehicle and lawn care equipment parked beside a major thoroughfare on the westside.
Darrick Lynn Franklin, 47, and Sherry Lynn Luttrell, 47, were charged with theft by taking, said Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Matt Myers.
The two on March 25 stole a truck belonging to the Peachtree City Public Works Department parked on MacDuff Parkway. The driver was working in the area and called police when he discovered the Ford F-250 missing. The truck contained a Weed Eater, blower and hedge trimmer, police reports said.
Myers said the truck was found abandoned less than a mile away on Wynn’s Pond Road off Ga. Highway 54 just inside Coweta County, adding that lawn equipment was missing.
Coweta County deputies located and arrested the two, Myers said, adding that Franklin and Luttrell are wanted by multiple jurisdictions on similar charges.
