PTC Council meets Thursday to OK borrowing $1.95 million

The Peachtree City Council on March 17 will be looking at the shortest agenda in recent months. The only new business will deal with a loan to purchase a variety of equipment for public safety, public works and infrastructure needs.

With no old business to address, the only item of new business on the agenda a $1.95 million equipment loan from Whitney Bank with a 5-7 year term and carries an interest rate of 1.81 percent .

The loan to the Public Facilities Authority will go to purchase a variety of items such as a replacement fire engine, a medic truck, asphalt spreader, dump truck, bobcat, backhoe, server and network hardware upgrades, municipal court system upgrades and broadband equipment and installation.

The council under the staff topics portion of the meeting will hear a presentation on an update to the parks and recreation ordinance and a proposal to increase municipal court administrative fees.
