Charles W. Taylor of Senoia passed away on January 30, 2016, surrounded by his family after losing the battle of Lewy Body Dementia for seven years.  

He was born on September 16, 1934 to Fred & Lydia Taylor of Franklin, N.C.   

Charles served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1957 and on to reserves from 1957-1961. After his military service, he worked for Orkin Exterminating for 13 years.  Upon moving back to Georgia in 1970, he started his own business, Taylor Exterminating.  In January, 1992, he retired and built custom homes for a short time. He enjoyed 5K’s and marathons in his younger years.  His life was rich and full and he loved his family and was loved by his family. Charles and Lorene attended Flat Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene of 56 years of marriage; four sons, Mark and Cindy Taylor, Scott and Mariane Taylor, Richard & Susan Taylor, and Steve and Kelly Taylor, all of Fayetteville; eleven grandchildren, Jessica and Cameron Reed, Jennifer Taylor, Bryan, Josh and Ashley Taylor, Josie, Alyssa and Avery Taylor, Kendall, Cody and Kaydie Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Hadley O’Kelley, Caroleigh Taylor and Jackson Reed.  He is also survived by his sisters, Edith Chou, Greenville, S.C., and Olivia Morrow, Greer, S.C.; and brother, Bruce Taylor, Hobe Sound, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.   

The funeral service will be on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Dr. Richard Leach officiating.  Burial will immediately follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City, Ga.  The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. on Thursday evening, February 4, 2016.
