Mrs. Margaret “Margie” Helen Odom 89, formally of Tyrone, passed away on January 1, 2016 in Columbus, Ga.
Margie spent many years fitting children in shoes at Rich’s department store and other shoe stores until her retirement from Fayette shoes. She moved to Columbus in 2011 following the death of her beloved husband of over 60 years James Odom. She was also preceded in death by her son Harry Odom; great grandson, Kirkland Scott, several brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her grandchild, Michelle Scott and her husband Keith; daughter in law Doneta Odom; great-grandchildren Cameron and Abigail Scott all of Columbus; Brother Billy Thornton of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held on Monday January 4, 2016 at 2 p.m., Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Ga. The family received friends and family at prior to the service. The interment was at Camp Memorial Park following the service.
