Department of Driver Services (DDS) Commissioner Rob Mikell urges customers to check for driver license and ID services online – even during the Agency’s holiday closings.

“Even though state offices will observe holiday hours over the next few weeks, many driver services are available online at www.dds.ga.gov,” he said. “DDS continues to develop mobile options to save customers valuable time when conducting their licensing business.”

Many transactions can be done via computer or cellphone including:

• Replace a lost or stolen license AND drive on the receipt until the card is delivered

• Change your address

• Check for any points on your driving record

• View, print or email details on your Suspension or Reinstatement

• Pay any Super Speeder, Reinstatement or Pending Suspension fines and/or fees

• Check your license status especially after paying tickets to verify that your driving record has been updated

• Request your Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

• Renew Online (if you have a Gold Star on your license and are age 64 or younger)

• Submit on Online License Application and DDS will have your completed application waiting for you when you arrive for service

All DDS Customer Service Centers will be closed Dec. 24-28 and will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 29. In addition, locations will also be closed Jan. 1-4 and will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 5.

The first business day following a closure is typically very busy statewide, so please plan accordingly. Wait times can be checked online by location at www.dds.ga.gov and submitting an online license application to DDS before you arrive will help improve customer service.
